There is so much potential in a day.

The child of morning, rosy-fingered Dawn… — Homer

The sunrise has always been a symbol of hope. The terrors of the night are swept away by power of the morning sun. In classic literature, no vampire is safe from the rising sun.

The dawn contains so much potential. “The sun’ll come out — tomorrow…” Broadway Annie reminds us.

I like to be up at dawn, walking, so I can greet the new-born day. So much can happen between sunup and sundown.

For some, this dawn will be the first time a newborn baby opens its eyes. For others, this will be the last dawn they see.

It may be a perfectly ordinary day, but it is the only day, the only particular day, that we will ever see.

There will never be another June 1st, 2021.

Rosy-fingered dawn stretches out her hand to all the world. What will we do with this day?
